Good value but not solid copper core

We installed this direct burial cable for inside CCTV and Internet extension to a connected building. We like the thickness of the outer jacket and the stiffness of the wire, plus the colors are clear and not faded as on some other cable brands we've purchased in the past. So far, the cable is performing very well, with the camera images and ethernet speeds we expected. Our only reservation is that it is advertised as Cat 5e which is solid or stranded copper by specification. Copper clad aluminum does not meet the industry specification for Cat 5e.

Low quality wire Move on to another brand

The casing on this wire was broken almost the entire length of the wire. Do Not waste your time and money on this.

This isn’t compliant with CAT5e

This cable doesn’t use solid copper wires, which means it isn’t CAT5e compliant. I had to rip out the cable I installed and replace it with real CAT5e cable.

Possibly not Cat 5e

As others have said, it seems like this cable is either just Cat 5 or just a really, really cheap Cat 5e. I capped out 90 mbps on a gigabit connection. Swapped the cable and instantly gigabit speed. Very disappointing.
