Much too low max weight and max size to be useful

This model has a much too low max weight and max size to be useful. I wish you made a model that [1] would support a serious laptop with an external USB drive (e.g., max weight of 50LB or so) and [2] is large enough for a 17 inch laptop, and [3] has room for a pad of paper too, along with the mouse.

Holds laptop for displaying recipes.

Working between printed recipes and measuring ingredients was a challenge. Digitizing copies of recipes and displaying on laptop has advantages. I can zoom in to make ingredients' measurements clearer to read and avoid mistakes. This height and position adjustable arm mounted on wall is perfect for the job. I have a Corian trivet that matches the weight of the laptop to mount when laptop is off of it. Thus the arm stays handy without struggling to keep it in place. Pictures will added soon.

Difficult articulation

There is less flexibility on exactly where I can position the laptop than I was hoping for. I do have to do a lot of switching the arm side back and forth, which requires that I straighten the arm all the way to switch sides. If the hinge were made differently, you could just swing it back and forth without unbending.

Ok for looking, but not for typing

There are two main issues with this stand. First, the design is just not sturdy enough. We mounted this near a test bench so that we could type in the results from the tests. But there is so much wobble as you type that it makes you dizzy looking at the screen. The second is that the hydraulics that control the vertical position are too strong for a laptop. It is very obvious that the mount was intended for a display and they just stuck on a tray for a laptop. Even at the lowest tension setting, the arm still wants to pop up, so every time to take your laptop on and off, you need to readjust. And pushing the laptop back down takes a non-trivial amount of force, which usually ends up tilting the laptop platform instead of lowering it, so that has to be readjusted as well.Bottom line, I will definitely be looking for a more sturdy option that can be locked in place (at least locking the vertical position).
