The inside of the drawer was covered in scuffs and scratches. The metal standoffs were bent- I had to use a plier and a microfiber cloth to bend it back. Installation was difficult- The standoffs want to bow outward when they aren't screwed to the desk, so simply tracing the holes to drill is probably not the best strategy. You need to compensate for that bow when you mark your drill holes. All said and done- the drawer looks great and does its job, but definitely required some tlc.
I like that this mounted really solid under the desk without it being too wide. I did not want it interfering with desk arm chair sliding in and out under the desk and because its just wide enough yet not too wide it worked perfectly. I also like that the drawer has the upper shelf for things like binder books or calculators etc etc. It is also lined ontop with a felt type lining which is a nice touch. If I were to make one recommendation to the manufacturer it would be to also line the inside drawer with the very same lining. That would be a huge upgrade and keep things from sliding around everytime you close the drawer. Why this drawer works perfect for my sit stand desk is because anything longer than this will not fit or mount to a sit stand desk because of the long bar that is in the center of the table. this is the only drawer that I could tell would work and I am glad I carefully thought this out because all the other drawers would never have fit. Also, because I wanted the drawer at the very underside far edge of the table its nice that it had the shelf feature because the sit stand desk underside metal table bracket can actually fit inside the shelf where I mounted the drawer. This could only have happened with this exact type of drawer. If you have a sit stand desk you cannot even consider any other drawer, its got to be this exact one that fits perfectly. Hope this helps ya in your search.
This drawer was easy to install and fit perfectly under my desk. I chose this model because of the longer mounting legs in that my desk is reinforced with a metal frame that runs the perimeter of the desk.
The drawer slides are really lousy. Even when greased, they don't slide smoothly. Given the cost, I'd expect better quality. The side brackets are also not quite as stiff as i'd like—there's some slight side-to-side wiggling. That said, its solidly built and doesn't take up so much width under the desk that your legs bang against it (a problem I've had with other drawers of this sort).
Perfect for any desk with a 1 inch metal frame lip !!!
