NOT FOR 20 INCH TVS

WAS TOO HEAVY! TOO BIG AND HEAVY DUTY FOR A 20 INCH LED TV FOR RV USE

Great concept, poor materials.

Yes, i hung a 50" LG tv on this thing in my 2022 Entegra Vision RV under my front bunk bed. I had to build extra wooden reinforcement because the bed has a 3/16" piece of wood as base. Then comes this device. I want a big screen tv there because someone decided to install 20" TVs at the factory..I modified it to accept a 1/4" pin as a lock because the factory one wouldn't hold a 25lb TV. Everything is ok but i will have to replace the LG with a lighter TV because i don't trust this TV mount and don't want 40lbs falling on my head while I'm driving down the road..So, can it take a 50" TV? Yes it can.If you need one just for your house, no problem, but keep in mind that the TV won't stay at 90 degrees, i stays at about 80.

Locking mechanism is inadequate

The locking mechanism is very inadequate. It worked maybe once or twice. This issue should be addressed by the manufacturer. With the number of complaints posted here, they are under a huge liability by ignoring this defect.

Wish it was engineered just a little better (dangerous locking mechanism, fixed by moving a spacer)

Don't get me wrong, overall, I like this mount. But you should adjust one plastic washer to make the lock work better and improve the overall safety.I was surprised to see how few options there are for flip down ceiling mounts for tv's. As such, I would have expected a little bit better engineering from the few that are around. This one uses a spinning metal offset chock and hooks to lock the mount in the upright position. The slightest bit of additional pressure and the lock will give way and the tv will fall down. This is very unsafe. This is VERY POOR engineering. Surely a better locking mechanism could have been devised.Either way, upon investigating, I discovered a small plastic spacer under ONE screw that holds the latch hooks. I switched this spacer to the other screw in order to give the hooks a slight angle the opposite direction (towards the cammed chock) and the lock performs considerably better. This simple adjustment, and I no longer fear the tv will swing down and bash my head at any given moment. You can even use the provided hex wrench to make this change in less than 1 minute.
